Duty Cycle

The duty cycle is the time on divided by the total time, and is

essentially the percent of time that the I/O channel is active

(maximum power consumption).

Duty Cycle = Active time

÷

(Active time + Inactive time)

For example, if a Discrete Output is active for 15 seconds out of every

60 seconds:

Duty Cycle = 15 seconds

÷

(15 seconds + 45 seconds) = 15 seconds

÷

60 seconds = 0.25
