Work Order Feedback

If you’re new to the Maintenance Planner role and have just started building a library of preventive and corrective Job Plans, be sure to solicit feedback from the maintenance techs performing the work as part of a continuous improvement process. Below are some typical questions which should be addressed by means of a work order feedback loop.

• Were all job steps within the plan properly documented and of sufficient detail to perform the task?
• Were the estimated task durations accurate?
• Were all identified parts and quantities correct for the job?
• Were all specialty tools/equipment properly identified?
• Were all required permits included with the job package?
• Were required drawings/schematics included?
• Was any equipment changed which would necessitate updates to the equipment technical data within the CMMS?
• Should the PM frequency be adjusted based on as found conditions?

Comprehensive feedback will facilitate improvements to planned work packages for future work at your site.
