Sonoco completes two years of operation with PlantWeb

After two years controlling and reducing operational and maintenance costs,  Sonoco, a tube manufacturer for the paper, textile, aluminum, adhesive tape and flexible tape markets, can now account for the economic benefits of the PlantWeb Architecture thanks to the work of Otavio Baleotti, its Unit Manager in Londrina.

One of the most relevant cases was the discovery of the relationship between the mass flow disturbance and the malfunctioning of supporting process equipments. This discovery was possible due to the analysis of registrations provided by DeltaV, which allowed for time savings for the technical personnel that certainly would had been spent if they were trying to solve the problem by trial and error through old conventional methods.

This is another proof that today an automation system can not be limited only to automate, but also to look into the economic benefits.
